This Privacy Policy describes how MyTAXPrepOffice (“Software”), Advanced Tax Solutions LLC (“ATS”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), and our services ("Services") collect, share, use, and endeavor to protect the information of those who register for the Software (“Licensee”, “you”, or “your”). Advanced Tax Solutions LLC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time, and these changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this website. Account

We collect and associate with your account, information like your name, email address, phone number, payment info, and physical address.

 

Services

 

When you use our Services, we collect, process, store, and transmit information necessary for the completion of U.S. Federal and/or state tax returns, including sensitive personal identity and account information. Our software includes the ability to file a prepared return electronically (“e-file”) which requires the collection of taxpayer and preparer signature information in various forms.

 

Usage

 

We collect information from and about the devices you use to access the Services. This includes things like IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, the web page you visited before coming to our sites, and identifiers associated with your devices. Your devices (depending on their settings) may also transmit location information to the Services.

 

Cookies and Other Technologies

 

We use technologies like cookies and analytic tools to provide, improve, protect, and promote our Services. For example, cookies help us with things like remembering your username for your next visit, understanding how you are interacting with our Services, and improving them based on that information. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use our software.

 

How we share information:

 

We do not sell or rent information about you. We will not disclose personal information including email address and phone number to third parties without your consent, except as explained in this Privacy Policy.

 

Internal Revenue Service and State Revenue Departments (“government agencies”) 

 

Your clients’ information will only be shared with government agencies only after the software has been directed to e-file your clients’ return(s).

 

Bank Product Providers

 

We integrate with various refund bank product providers (“banks”) for the purpose of offering refund related bank products (“bank products”). We will share accounts, and personal information with a bank, only when directed by you for the purpose of enrolling in their program. We will only share your clients’ personal information with a bank only when directed by you and after obtaining agreement from your client through the selection and completion of a bank product application within the software.

 

Law & Order

 

We may disclose your information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with the law as outlined in “Legal Compliance”; (b) prevent fraud or abuse of MyTAXPrepOffice or our users, or (c) protect property rights of MyTAXPrepOffice.

 

Legal Compliance

 

At times government agencies make requests for information on our users and/or their clients. MyTAXPrepOffice will fight against any blanket request for such information. We will comply with valid legal requests limited to a single user, a preparer, or a taxpayer, and be accompanied by a signed subpoena.

Advertising
 

Personal information may be shared, not sold, with a third party for marketing or advertising our software and Services on other websites. These third-party suppliers may use tracking tools, such as cookies, to record information regarding your visits to this site and other sites to show you advertising that reflects your activities and interests. If you would like to opt out of sharing your information for the purpose of being shown personalized or targeted ads, please email dana.thompson@advanced-taxsolutions.com. Please be aware that this does not opt you out of receiving ads. You will still receive generic ads.

 

Third-Party Payment Processing
 

We currently use PayPal and BillingTree (“Payment Processors”) to assist in securely processing your payment. We may collect and disclose personal and/or financial information to our third-party Payment Processors who perform services for us in connection with purchases made on our websites, on the phone, or from within the software. This information may include a valid credit card number, type, expiration date, security code, or other financial information. By making a purchase, you give us consent to use and provide your financial information as we consider necessary to process the transaction.

We store only limited financial and personally identifiable data that is related to your payment method and do not control and are not responsible for the Payment Processors or their collection or use of your data. We recommend that you review the Payment Processors’ privacy policies to verify how they use, release, and secure your financial data.
