Tropical Storm Debby Victims in Pennsylvania Get Tax Relief

In the wake of Tropical Storm Debby, the IRS is offering much-needed relief to taxpayers in parts of Pennsylvania. Residents and businesses in Lycoming, Potter, Tioga, and Union counties now have until February 3, 2025, to file federal tax returns and make payments. This extension applies to various filings, including quarterly estimated taxes and payroll submissions.

The IRS will automatically apply this extension to those in affected areas, meaning no extra steps are needed to claim relief. Taxpayers who have experienced loss or disruption due to the storm should also check eligibility for casualty loss deductions.
