The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has just announced the opening of registration for the 2024 Nationwide Tax Forum. This annual event, spanning five cities across the nation, provides a golden opportunity for tax preparers to enhance their knowledge and skills through special continuing education sessions.

For over three decades, the IRS Nationwide Tax Forum has been a pivotal gathering for the tax professional community, offering insights into crucial developments. In 2023, a whopping 12,000 tax professionals attended, underlining the forum's significance in the industry.

Who Should Attend

Enrolled agents, certified public accountants, attorneys, and other tax professionals can benefit from this IRS-sponsored event. Each forum, lasting three days, features over 40 seminars and workshops on a diverse range of federal and state tax issues. Experts from the IRS and partner associations lead these sessions, offering attendees the chance to earn up to 18 continuing education credits.

What Will I Learn

Apart from staying abreast of the latest in tax law and related issues, attendees will also have the unique opportunity to meet IRS hiring experts. As the agency undergoes transformative work under the Inflation Reduction Act, the IRS is actively seeking talented individuals in the tax community and beyond.

In addition to professional education seminars, attendees can take advantage of services like the case resolution room, expo hall showcasing the latest technology, and special sessions on practice management. The Annual Filing Season Program refresher course is also available for unenrolled tax preparers participating in the program.

What Cities Are Included

Scheduled to run from July to September, the tax forum kicks off in Chicago and concludes in San Diego, covering cities like Orlando, Baltimore, and Dallas in between. It's a unique chance for tax professionals to engage with peers, learn from industry leaders, and explore new technologies and products in the expo hall.

The IRS encourages early registration for both conference sessions and forum hotels, as spots tend to fill up quickly. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with IRS representatives, industry leaders, and fellow tax professionals.
